Removing a Hard Drive

1. Power off the workstation, remove the access panel, and attach the antistatic wrist
strap.
See Chapter 5.
Caution – Use proper ESD grounding techniques when handling components. Wear
an antistatic wrist strap and use an antistatic mat. Store ESD-sensitive components in
antistatic bags before placing them on any surface.
2. Release the drive handle by pushing the handle release button toward the front of
the chassis housing (
3. Pull out on the drive handle to disconnect the hard drive from the FC-AL
backplane assembly connector.
4. Remove the hard drive from the hard drive bracket.
5. Place the hard drive on an antistatic mat.
