OpenBoot Emergency Procedures for
Workstations With USB Keyboards
The following paragraphs describe how to perform the functions of the Stop-
commands on workstations that have USB keyboards.
10.2.1

Stop-A Functionality

Stop-A (Abort) works the same as it does on workstations with standard keyboards,
except that it does not work during the first few seconds after the machine is reset.
10.2.2

Stop-N Functionality

1. Turn on the power to your workstation.
Wait until the front panel power button LED begins to blink and you hear an audible
beep.

OpenBoot Emergency Procedure Commands (Non-USB) Keyboards
Description
Bypass POST. This command does not depend on security mode.
(Note: Some systems bypass POST as a default; in such cases, use
Stop-D to start POST).
Abort.
Enter the diagnostic mode (set diag-switch? to true).
Enter Forth on TTYA instead of probing. Use fexit to continue
with the initialization sequence. This command is useful if your
hardware is broken.
Reset NVRAM contents to default values.
