CHAPTER 5: MULTI-TRAY PAPER FEED SECTION

Mechanism

The multi-tray paper feed section is comprised of the transfer unit installed in the base and the vertical transfer

unit in the main unit. These are two separate units.

The base is provided with two paper feed trays. Paper from these trays is fed by the pickup roller, scraper, and

stripper unit through the path shown in the diagram. The paper reaches the vertical transfer unit, and is then

transported to the second paper feed section.

After the second paper feed section, paper is fed through the same path as when paper is supplied from the

standard paper feed tray.

If paper jam occurs, the printer halts, and an error indication is displayed in accordance with the location of the
