Joining Multiple Capture Servers

Your Lightspeed Live Capture server is factory-configured as a standalone live Capture
system. This configuration includes a Vantage database running on each standalone
Live Capture server. If you plan to manage multiple Live Capture servers from a
common interface, or add Live Capture servers to an existing Vantage Array, you can do
this in two ways:

Into a Single Domain
The system Database and the Live Capture web application traffic can affect the
performance of a Live Capture server when run in a domain containing more than one
Live Capture server. Therefore, when joining two or more Live Capture servers together
into a single domain, either as a Capture-only solution or into an existing Vantage
server domain, it is highly recommended that the Live Capture/Vantage Database and
IIS software hosting the Live Capture/Vantage web applications run on an independent
non-Live Capture/Vantage server. See images below and

It is also highly recommended that the process of creating multiple server domains
containing Live Capture servers be done as part of the installation and commissioning
phase.
Important Note: When standalone Lightspeed Live Capture servers are combined
together using a single database, only those ComponentPacs properly installed on the
master domain database will be utilized. When joining Lightspeed Live Capture
servers together into a Live Capture-only system, or into an existing Vantage Array,
always verify that all of the required ComponentPacs are properly installed on the
combined system's master domain database. For details on how to install

For Capture-only systems, join all Live Capture servers together by creating a sys-
tem that utilizes a single domain database.
For Capture systems that will be utilizing other Vantage services and actions, such
as Transcoding and Analysis, you can add your Live Capture servers to an existing
Vantage Array.
