Creating Avid Workflows

The following topics explain how to use Lightspeed Live Capture workflows to ingest
sources for Vantage Avid workflows. The workflows shown here produce Avid OPAtom
MXF media with associated AAF files.

Note: The Interplay Advanced Encoder resident on Live Capture systems is intended
to be used in a Live Capture only system (Standalone or multiple Capture nodes). If
your Live Capture systems are joined to a Vantage transcoding domain, it is required
that all Interplay Advance Encoder processes be run on the Vantage transcode nodes
and NOT run on the Live Capture systems. In this case, the Transcode Service must be
removed from the Live Capture systems by using the Vantage Management Console.
The Interplay Advanced Encoder is available in the Flip action and produces Avid MXF
OPAtom media and associated files. Two container options are available:
•
Interplay Single-Res—Which includes integrated delivery to ISIS/NEXIS share stor-
age and Interplay check-in.
•
Media Composer—For creating an Avid AAF and individual Avid MXF OPAtom
media files.
