Configuring the VTR Connection
To capture video data from a VTR, the VTR must be properly connected to the
Lightspeed Live server and configuration settings need to be made in the Vantage
Management Console > Capture Inventory panel to complete the connection.
Follow these steps to configure the VTR connection:
1. Make sure the VTR is properly installed and connected to the Lightspeed Live
server. See
2. Power up the VTR and switch it into the proper Remote mode for RS-422 control.
3. Open the Vantage Management Console and select Capture Inventory in the left
panel to open the Capture Inventory panel for editing.
4. In the upper panel, select the SDI Input you want to use for the VTR connection.
This needs to be the one that matches the terminal number the VTR is connected
to on the RS-422 interface box. For example, when connected to Channel 1 (CH1)
on the RS-422 interface box you must select SDI Input 1in the Capture Inventory.
5. In the Configuration panel select RS-422 from the TimeCode Source drop-down
menu.
6. Click the Save button
If you have additional VTRs, configure and save each SDI input that has a VTR
connected to it.
