RS-422 Interface Kit Assembly and Installation

RS-422 Interface Kit Assembly and Installation
The 4-Port RS-422 VTR Interface Kit provides the ability to connect up to four VTR units to
the Lightspeed Live server, and allows a VTR to be remotely controlled by the
Lightspeed Tape Capture application to facilitate conversion of video tape data into
video files.

What the RS-422 VTR Interface Kit Includes

The 4-Port RS-422 VTR Interface Kit includes these components:

One USB to RS-422 Interface Box, providing four RS-422 serial ports.
USB cable to connect the RS-422 Interface Box to the Lightspeed Live server.
USB Cable Retainer that secures the USB cable to the Lightspeed Live server.

Phillips flat-head 6-32 x 3/4" screw, lock-washer and 6-32 1/4" nut to install the
Cable Retainer. (This replaces one of the standard screws in the Lightspeed Live
server cover.)
RS-422 DB9-to-RJ45 (Ethernet style) adapter kit, which includes:

Four Female DB9-to-RJ45 blue adapters to connect to the RS-422 Interface Box.

Four Male DB9-to-RJ45 gray adapters to connect to a VTR.
Rack Mount Tray that fits in a standard 1 RU rack space and can hold up to two RS-
422 Interface Boxes.
