20. Link Layer Discovery Protocol
(LLDP)Commands
20-1 lldp run
This command is used to enable the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) globally. Use the no form of this
command to revert to the default setting.
lldp run
no lldp run
Parameters
None.
Default
By default, this option is disabled.
Command Mode
Global Configuration Mode.
Command Default Level
Level: 15.
Usage Guideline
Use this command to globally enable LLDP and then the Switch can start to transmit LLDP packets and receive
and process the LLDP packets on all physical interfaces.
By advertising LLDP packets, the Switch announces the information to its neighbor through physical interfaces.
On the other hand, the Switch will learn the connectivity and management information from the LLDP packets
advertised from the neighbor(s).
Example
This example shows how to enable LLDP.
Switch# configure terminal
Switch(config)# lldp run
Switch(config)#
20-2 snmp-server enable traps lldp
This command is used to enable the LLDP trap state.
snmp-server enable traps lldp
no snmp-server enable traps lldp

None.
