43-4 switchport access vlan
This command is used to specify the access VLAN for an interface. Use the no form of this command to revert
to the default setting.
switchport access vlan VLAN-ID
no switchport access vlan
Parameters
access vlan VLAN-ID
Default
By default, this access VLAN is VLAN 1.
Command Mode
Interface Configuration Mode.
Command Default Level
Level: 15.
Usage Guideline
The command takes effect when the interface is set to access mode. The VLAN specified as the access VLAN
does not need to exist to configure the command.
Only one access VLAN can be specified. The succeeding command overwrites the previous command.
Example
This example shows how to configure the interface 1/0/1 to access mode with access VLAN 1000.
Switch# configure terminal
Switch(config)# interface Ethernet 1/0/1
Switch(config-if)# switchport mode access
Switch(config-if)# switchport access vlan 1000
Switch(config-if)#

This command is used to specify the tagged or untagged VLANs for a hybrid port. Use the no form of this
command to revert to the default setting.
