7.6 Checking Disc Mower Float
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected startup of machine, always stop engine and remove key
from ignition before leaving operator's seat for any reason.
1. Center the disc mower directly behind the tractor.
2. Lower the disc mower to the ground.
3. Shut down the tractor, and remove key from ignition.
4. Grasp the front corner of the disc mower and lift; the
weight should feel approximately like 45 kg (100 lb.) at
both ends. If adjustment is required, refer to
Adjusting Disc Mower Float, page
7.6.1 Adjusting Disc Mower Float
The float setting (or lifting force) changes depending on the conditioner type and options. The setting must be equal
at both ends of the disc mower.

NOTE:
Changes to the disc mower operating position can affect the float settings. After adjusting the cutting height or the
cutting angle, check float and adjust as necessary.

set the cutterbar to an orientation and tilt appropriate for
the crop type and cutting conditions. Refer to the disc
mowers operator's manual for the cutterbar angle
adjustment.
