SmartPAC 2 with WPC Integration
Input pairs 8 & 9 and 10 & 11 are always activated and cannot be turned off. If you do not
want to use one or both pairs of inputs, leave them wired to ground, as indicated in Table 2 -
2, page 54 in the Installation chapter. Selecting "UNUSED" as the stop type does not
inactivate these inputs.
Follow the instructions below to set the stop types and names for the user inputs.
1. From SmartPAC Main Initialization menu, select "PRESS CONTROL." The WPC
Initialization menu appears. Select "User Interlocks." A display appears similar to:

USER 10 = ESTOP
USER 11 = ESTOP
USE THE CURSOR KEYS TO CHOOSE THE USER
STOP TYPE YOU WISH TO CHANGE.
PRESS THE ENTER KEY TO CHANGE THE USER
STOP TYPE
PRESS THE RESET KEY WHEN YOU ARE DONE.
NOTICE
Input pairs 8 & 9 and 10 & 11 operate only as ESTOP and LOCKT (lockout). If you set the
stop type for one of these inputs to UNUSED or TSTOP, SmartPAC sets it to ESTOP or
LOCKT when you exit the User Interlock menu.
NOTICE
If you set one of the inputs in a cross-checked pair (8 & 9 or 10 & 11) to LOCKT, the other
will automatically be set to LOCKT when you exit the User Interlock menu, and the input pair
will produce a lockout condition when there is a fault. To change the pair back to e-stop, set
both to ESTOP.
2. Highlight the stop type for the input you want to program. Press ENTER to change the
stop type. User inputs 1 – 7 can be set for UNUSED, TSTOP, ESTOP or LOCKT
(lockout); the cross-checked pairs can be set for either ESTOP or LOCKT.
3. Use the right arrow cursor key to move the highlight to the input's name ("UNNAMED"
until you select another name). Press ENTER. A screen similar to the following appears.
