Air Pressure Sensors or Switches

NOTICE
Your SmartPAC 2 with WPC requires either sensors or switches to monitor clutch air
pressure and counterbalance air pressure, if there is a counterbalance.
See the instructions below to wire the sensors or switches:
Clutch Air Pressure Sensor and Counterbalance Sensor, next two sections
Clutch Air Pressure Switch and Counterbalance Switch, next two sections
Clutch Air Pressure Sensor
Install and wire the sensor for clutch air pressure as follows:
1. Install a filter regulator and lubricator in-line before the air pressure sensor, if not already
present.
2. Connect shop air to the air pressure sensor input port.
3.
Run the cable through flexible, liquid-tight conduit as noted above (NEMA 12). Connect
the wires. Refer to Figure 1 at the end of the manual and wire the sensor as follows:
To set the clutch air pressure value, see Setting Clutch and Counterbalance Air Pressure
Limits, page 238.
4. Since you are using a pressure sensor to monitor the clutch aid pressure, you must ground
the clutch air pressure switch input, terminal #8. Connect a jumper between terminal #8
and terminal #10 (clutch air pressure switch input and ground).
Counterbalance Air Pressure Sensor
If the press is equipped with a counterbalance system install and wire a second air pressure
sensor as follows:
