SmartPAC 2 with WPC Integration
Top Stop in Inch Enabled
NOTICE
To enable top stop in inch, make sure there is NO connection to pin 13 on the WPC
processor board. This is the factory setting.
To move the ram in this mode, depress and hold both RUN/INCH buttons on the operator
station at the same time.
The press will run until:
• It reaches the top of the stroke and it top stops
• You release one or both of the RUN/INCH buttons
• SmartPAC 2 with WPC stops the press because the light curtain is blocked during the
non-muted portion of the stroke, a system fault is detected, or some other reason.
The ram moves only while you depress both RUN/INCH buttons. To make a full stroke,
depress and hold the buttons until the press top stops.
To stop the ram before the top of the stroke, release one or both of the RUN/INCH buttons.
The press will stop.
After the press stops, it will not move again until you release the buttons and depress them
again. The ram will also stop if the light curtain is blocked during the non-muted portion of
the stroke, or if a system fault is detected. If you are jogging the press, you may not notice
that the ram has top-stopped.
Top Stop in Inch Disabled (Top Stop Bypass)
NOTICE
To disable top stop in inch, connect pin 13 on the WPC processor board to +24 VDC.
With top stop in Inch disabled, the press will run in inch mode, without stopping, as long as
you depress and hold the RUN/INCH buttons.
NOTICE
If an Interrupted stroke occurs, WPC automatically switches to TWO HAND MAINTAINED
SINGLE STROKE, even if Top Stop is disabled. See "Interrupted Stroke," page 364.
Micro-inch
To move the ram in this mode, depress both RUN/INCH buttons on the operator station at
the same time. The Micro-inch feature makes the clutch engage only for the Micro-inch time
that you set. You can stop the ram before the set time by releasing the switches.
If you set the Micro-inch angle to some angle position other than 185° (where normal
inching resumes), you will see "Micro-inch" displayed on the Mode Select menu in Run
