Chapter 4 – SmartPAC 2 with WPC
Initialization Mode
(Includes some options. Your display may look different.)
NOTICE
INITIALIZE PRESS PARAMETERS BEFORE PROGRAMMING YOUR NEW
SMARTPAC 2/WPC
You should have already initialized the press parameters when you set up your SmartPAC
with WPC. See page 101 in Chapter 2. If you did not already initialize press parameters, do
so now. You will also need to initialize parameters when you install new WPC firmware.
You use Initialization mode extensively when you first install a new SmartPAC 2 and you
will likely use this mode occasionally after you set up SmartPAC 2 and the press is running.
In Initialization mode, you make initial settings that affect the operation of SmartPAC 2
regardless of which tool is loaded. (You make settings for individual tools in Program mode;
see the next chapter). This manual covers the ProCamPAC and DiProPAC options. If you
have any other optional modules with your SmartPAC 2, refer to the applicable user manual.
This chapter describes how to use the displays you will see in Initialization mode. It covers
zeroing the resolver, disabling the position sensor, setting the brake monitor, controlling
access to various settings, setting communications parameters and other operations. If you
have SmartPAC options installed, they will also have settings made in Initialization mode.
This chapter also includes functions related to programmable cams and die protection, such
as entering custom channel names and using the Security Access menu for locking settings in
Run mode.
