PREPARATI O N:
(a)
Disconnect the engine coolant temp. sensor connector.
Connect the sensor wire harness terminals together.
(b)
CHECK: (c) Turn the ignition switch ON.
Read temperature value on the OBD JJ scan tool or TOYOTA
OK: hand-held tester.

Temper a ture val u e: 140"C (284.F) or more
repl a ce engi n e cool a nt temp. sensor.
PREPARATI O N:
(a) Remove the ECM cover.
Connect between terminals THW and E2 of the ECM con-

nectar.
HINT:
Engine coolant temp. sensor connector is disconnected. Be-
fore checking, do a visual and contact pressure check for the
ECM connector (See page IN-30).
CHECK:
Tum the ignition switch ON.

Read temperature value on the OBD II scan tool or TOYOTA
OK:
hand-held tester.
Temperature val u e: 140"C ( 2 84" F ) or more
