Display Control Keys

The number of control keys used in this machine is quite small when compared to the
number of functions available. This is possible because the Guidance Display and the
Display Control keys centralize and simplify all operator choices.
The Display Control keys resemble the
cursor keys used on personal computers.
However, the Display Control keys do not
just move a cursor; they allow you to
access special features and to simplify
choices across a wide range of dimensions,
percentages, and sizes. Operation is simpli-
fied because all choices are made with
up/down and left/right directional controls.
In operation, a replica of the Display Con-
trol Keys is displayed on the guidance
screen. The keys that are effective for the
current choices are shaded. Similarly, LEDs
light on the effective key. The currently
selected choice is shown in reverse video
on the guidance panel.
