Prerequisites for The following prerequisites must be fulfilled in order to establish online
online operation operation between "SimoCom A" and a drive via the PROFIBUS–DP
fieldbus:
1. Communication modules, if "connect via PROFIBUS"
2. SIMATIC CPU, if "connect via MPI interface"
3. S7–DOS from V5.0

Note
Going online/offline in cyclic operation via PROFIBUS:
While PROFIBUS is in cyclic operation, "SimoCom A" with CP xxxx
can be connected or disconnected from the fieldbus using the following
plug–in cable without generating an error.

– CP 5511 (PROFIBUS connection via PCMCIA card)
Configuration:
PCMCIA card, type 2 + adapter with 9–pin SUB–D socket
connector to connect to PROFIBUS.
