1. PSSINIT initializes pSOS, the local operating system.
2. RARP - Reverse Address Resolution Protocol. Used by a device on a network to determine its IP
address.
3. BOOTP - Boot Protocol.
4. TFTP - Trivial File Transfer Protocol. A limited FTP environment for the device to load image files.

NIC Startup LED Sequence

Eight green LEDs on the edge of the NIC are labeled (bottom to top) SFT0 (LSB) to SFT7 (MSB).
They are read as a two-place hexadecimal number as shown in the following illustration. A visual
quick reference for conversion from binary to hexadecimal for each digit is provided for
convenience.

repeated using the application image
instead of the boot ROM.
• Set values specified in the boot ROM
dialog, perform
RARP2

BOOTP3
on page 151 if required.
Activity LED cycles when RARP and
BOOTP packets are sent. (Similar to
LED 7.)
• End of system initialization. TMS is
under application control. Subsequent
LED activity is unrelated to the states
listed in this table.
