Note:
All dialogue with the Server must be done initially through a 9600 baud serial connection with
the diag port.
Perform the following steps in sequence. The sample output shows that the MpsAP server is set at
10.7.200.1. If another address is used, the commands must be modified to use the new address.
1. Determine the MAC address.
2. Perform the initial IP setup.
3. Rename the config files.
4. Update the firmware.
5. Update the software.
The software must be updated before you install the bootptab entry in the App Processor.
6. Boot the Terminal Server from the TFTP boot processor.
7. Save the configuration.
Determining the MAC Address
1. Log in to the server through a serial connection using the user IDs and passwords shown.

2. Run the show command to get the MAC Address.

Note the MAC Address (that is, 00:a0:9c:00:02:07). The last six digits make up the name of
the configuration files.
3. Rename the configuration file lxperi.zip. Substitute the last six digits of the MAC address
determined in the previous step for the letters peri. For example, lx000207.zip.
4. Copy the lx------.zip file to lx------.prm where ------ is the MAC address.
