Installing Hardware and Connectivity
Front Detail
Each PDU used in the MPS 1000 requires two -48V 30A DC sources. These sources are combined
in the PDU to provide fault tolerance. Redundancy is provided only when both 30A sources are
connected. The combined current drain for both inputs must not exceed the current rating of the
PDU. For detailed power specifications on the PDU, see
Cabinet
on page 235 and
Due to the high current requirements, the connection requires a dual hole Compression Terminal,
ETC Molex HDCL-6142-CC (or equivalent), and must be wired with #6AWG wire. The connector
must have 1/4-inch holes and a hole spacing of 0.625 inches.

The following connectors are also compatible with the MPS 1000 system PDU:
• Panduit LCC6-14A-L
• Panduit LCC-14A-W-L
• Molex 19221-291
Connecting DC Power
Make sure that the two circuit breakers on the front of the PDU are off before connecting power.
Caution:
Ensure you turn off all circuit breakers on the front of the PDU before connecting power or
disconnecting power. The DC Mains supply must not be connected or disconnected under load.
Caution:
A qualified electrician must connect the DC power and grounding. The electrician must provide
all the power feed cabling and connectors required.
