Note:
If properly configured, the [TMSMAP] and [VPS_LINE_DEF] sections do not require
modifications. The [SYNC_LISTS] section does not require modification because
the frame syncs of the looped-back spans synchronize during the test.
f. Save and close the TMS.cfg file.
5. Run the following command to stop SRP. /etc/rc3.d/S20vps.startup stop Wait for SRP to
shutdown.
6. Run the following command to start SRP. /etc/rc3.d/S20vps.startup start The system
displays the two spans to be tested as AVAILABLE in the Alarm Viewer and not in alarm
state.
7. Using the Application Manager, assign and start /home/peri/testapps/IntwTTSA.vex on all
lines on the inbound span.
8. Assign and start /home/peri/testapps/OutwTTSA.vex on all lines on the outbound span.
The applications start running on the inbound and outbound lines. Status messages display in a
command tool window without error messages displayed. The applications take less than a minute
to run completely, then disconnect, and repeat continuously on the looped-back spans. Allow the
test to run for approximately five minutes. If no errors or alarms are generated, the test is
successful.
When you are satisfied with the results, terminate all applications. To test other spans, repeat the
procedure on those spans. Otherwise, unassign all applications, and restore the original TMS.cfg file
(if modified). If the test indicated errors in the configuration file and they are corrected, be sure to
make the same corrections to the restored TMS.cfg file.
