JBOD

RAID

Avaya recommends that you verify your RAID configuration. To do this, you connect to RAID by
serial interface or TCP/IP Ethernet. The following procedures show how to connect to RAID and
how to verify the configuration.
Important:
Do not change the RAID configuration. If you experience a problem with your RAID
configuration, contact Avaya Customer Support.
For further information, see the online documentation for the SANnet II SCSI RAID unit at:
http://www.dothill.com
Connect to RAID through TCP/IP Ethernet
The following procedure provides instructions on how to optionally configure the RAID controllers for
TCP/IP communication. This eliminates the need to have a local console on the RAID controller
ports for status or service.
1. Connect each of the two RAID controllers to the MPS product LAN subnet (10.7.x.x) using
CAT5 or CAT6 Ethernet patch cords.
2. Gain access to a RAID controller from your PC Hyper Terminal connection to the RAID
hardware.
3. Configure the static IP (10.7.x.x subnet). In the RAID DH - HyperTermial window, select view
and edit Configuration parameters, Communication Parameters, Internet Protocol (TCP/IP),
<your IP address information>, Set IP Address.
