Replacing a VRC Power Supply

You do not need to shut the whole MPS system down to replace a power supply in a VRC. The TMS
running off the power supplied by the faulty unit does have to be brought down.
1. Take the VRC offline as described in
2. Power off all power supplies in the same hemisphere (defined as slots 1, 2, and 6 or slots 3,
4, and 5).
3. Loosen the two retaining screws and slide out the Power Supply using the ejectors.
4. Install the new supply and tighten the retaining screws.
5. Configure the new power supply only if it has not been previously programed.
a. Issue the following command to program the power supply.
ncd nicsetpwrsupinfo
b. Verify the power supply information.
ncd nicgetpwrsupinfo
c. Check the power supply voltages.
ncd nicgetchassisstatus
6. Reset the NIC by pressing the reset button (S1) on the NIC. Configure the NIC as shown in
the following sample output.
