Setting Notes

Fault Indications
A new pickup by a protection element generally turns off any previously lit LEDs on the optional operation
panel or the Web Monitor so that only the latest fault is displayed. You can select whether the stored LED
displays and the spontaneous fault indications, if any, appear upon the new pickup or only after a new trip
signal has been issued. In order to select the desired display mode, select the DEVICE submenu in the
SETTINGS menu. At address 610 FltDisp.LED/LCD, you can select between the two alternatives Target
on PU and Target on TRIP ("No trip - no flag").
Use parameter 611 Spont. FltDisp. to specify whether or not a spontaneous fault indication should
appear automatically (YES) or not (NO).
Default Display Selection
The start page of the default display on the optional operator panel and Web Monitor after device startup can
be selected in the device data via parameter 640 Start image DD. The available display pages are listed in
Appendix
E Default Settings and Protocol-dependent
IEC 61850 GOOSE Function
Under address 700 GOOSE-Stop, you select whether the GOOSE function of the IEC 61850 protocol is active
or not. If GOOSE-Stop is set to YES, you can release the GOOSE function again via a binary input during oper-
ation.
Fast GOOSE Transmission
Under address 702 Fast IO-Box, you set the Fast GOOSE transmission to ON or OFF. This parameter can
only be set if parameter 700 GOOSE-Stop has the value NO.
DNP-IP communication is only possible with the EN100+ module (100 Mbit Ethernet). If the Fast IO-Box
function is active, both the device and the EN100+ module are optimized for the fastest possible transmission
of multiple concurrent status changes of binary values. This might require a special version of the EN100 firm-
ware, which is available in the 7SC80 Sharepoint/Download area.
This results in the following restrictions:
Use fast binary outputs only, e.g., for protection indications
Only possible for fast PLC processing in a CFC
No transmission of the quality bits
No execution of double commands with feedback
VT Assignment
The parameter 712 VT Assignment is only available in the 7SC803 device. If 6xPT is set, the device works
with 6 voltage inputs and protects both sides of the recloser. If 4xPT is set, the device works in the same way
as 7SC802.
Battery Monitoring
Battery monitoring is only effective and accessible if address 350 Bat. Monitor is set to Enabled. If this
function is not required, Disabled is set.
Test in trickle charging mode:
The battery monitoring is switched ON or OFF at the address 351 Bat. Monitor. The test in trickle charging
mode is executed cyclically and is only interrupted by the test under load. The test interval in trickle charging
mode is set permanently and needs no parameterization. The measured voltage is compared with the parame-
terized limit values.
You can specify the battery voltage at which a critical charging state is recognized at address 352 V bat.
