Characteristics

General Properties
Powerful 32-bit microprocessor system
Complete digital measured value processing and control, from sampling and digitalization of the meas-
ured quantities to close and trip decisions for the switchgear component
Complete galvanic and interference-free isolation of the internal processing circuits of the measurement,
control and supply circuits of the system using instrument transformers, binary input and output
modules, and DC and AC voltage converters.
Complete functional scope required for protection and control of a line section
Easy device operation using the Web Monitor or a connected PC running DIGSI
Continuous calculation and displaying of measured values (including secondary, primary, percentage and
angle values, etc.) and count values
Storage of min./max. measured values (slave pointer function) and storage of long-term mean values
Storing fault indications for the last 8 power system faults (faults in the power system) with real-time
assignment and instantaneous values for fault recording for a maximum time period of approx. 11 s
Continuous monitoring of the measured quantities and of the device hardware and software
Communication with central control and data storage equipment
Battery-buffered clock which can be synchronized via a synchronization signal at the binary input, or via a
protocol or GPS/IRIG-B
Switching statistics: Counting the number of trip commands initiated by the device, logging the currents
of the last switch-off operation initiated by the device, and accumulating the eliminated short-circuit
currents of each breaker pole
Operating hours counter: Counting the operating hours of the protected object under load
Commissioning aids such as connection and direction check, status indication of all binary inputs and
outputs, easy testing of port F, and influencing of information at port F during test operation.
Time Overcurrent Protection 50, 51, 50N, 51N
Three definite time overcurrent protective elements and several inverse time overcurrent protective
elements for phase current and ground current Ι
Two-phase operation of the overcurrent protection (Ι
For the inverse time overcurrent protection, you can select from various characteristics of different stand-
ards or define user-specific characteristics
Blocking is possible, e.g. for reverse interlocking with any element
Instantaneous tripping by any element is possible when switching onto a fault
In-rush restraint with second harmonic current quantities.
Directional Time Overcurrent Protection 67, 67N
Three definite time elements and several inverse time elements for the phase operate parallel to the
nondirectional overcurrent elements. Their pickup values and time delays can be set independently of
these elements.
For inverse time overcurrent protection, it is possible to select from various characteristics of different
standards or define user-specific characteristics
