2.19 Flexible Protection Functions
As a jump applies only for a short time, the pickup delay time should be set to 0.25 s and the trip delay time to
0 s.
The following picture shows a jump detection example.

Figure 2-109
shows the function logic.
The jump detection can be performed for the following measurands in positive and negative direction respec-
tively:
•
Current
The function evaluates IA, IB, IC, IGnd, and the values of the third from last cycle. Jump detection is avail-
able in 1- and 3-phase operation.
•
Voltage
Depending on the setting of the parameter VOLTAGE SYSTEM, the Phase-Phase or the Phase-
Ground voltage and the values of the third from last cycle are evaluated. Jump detection is available in 1-
and 3- phase operation.
•
Voltage Side 2
Depending on the setting of the parameter VOLTAGE SYSTEM, the Phase-Phase or the Phase-
Ground voltage and the values of the third from last cycle of side 2 are evaluated. The jump detection is
available in 1- and 3-phase operation.
•
Active power in forward or reverse direction
The function evaluates the active power IA, IB, IC, and the values of the fifth from last cycle. Jump detec-
tion is available in 3-phase operation.
You can select P forward or P reverse as MEAS. QUANTITY.
•
Reactive power in forward or reverse direction
The function evaluates the reactive power IA, IB, IC, and the values of the fifth from last cycle. Jump
detection is available in 3-phase operation.
You can select Q forward or Q reverse as MEAS. QUANTITY.
•
Power factor
The function evaluates the power factor and the values of the third from last cycle. Jump detection is
available in 3-phase operation.
•
Frequency
The function evaluates the frequency and the values of the 6th last cycle.
