2.3.2 Commands For Configuring Switch IP

2.3.2.1 ip address
Command: ip address <ip-address> <mask> [secondary]
no ip address [<ip-address> <mask>] [secondary]
Function: Set the IP address and mask for the specified VLAN interface; the "no ip
address <ip address> <mask> [secondary]" command deletes the specified IP
address setting.
Parameter: <ip-address> is the IP address in dot decimal format; <mask> is the subnet
mask in dot decimal format; [secondary] indicates the IP configured is a secondary IP
address.
Default: No IP address is configured upon switch shipment.
Command mode: Interface Mode
Explanation
Configure the VLAN interface IP address;
<mask>
the "no ip address <ip_address> <mask>
[secondary]" command deletes VLAN
interface IP address.
Explanation
Enable the switch to be a BootP client and
obtain IP address and gateway address
through BootP negotiation; the "no ip
address bootp-client" command disables
the BootP client function.
