Pinpoint Tests
Test
1 Check cable and terminal integrity:
- ECM pin A28
- ECM pin B20
- ECM pin B01
2 Check cable for short circuit:
- ECM pin A28 to ECM B20
- ECM pin A28 to ground
3 Check cable for continuity:
- ECM pin A28 to sensor pin 1
- ECM pin B20 to sensor pin 2
- ECM pin BOl to sensor pin 3
4 Check cable for short circuit:
- ECM pin A28 to ECM pin B01
5 Reconnect harness, clear fault code and run
engine

pinpoint test 1:
Disconnect MAP sensor and proceed
to test 4:
Check connection/condition of pipe
from MAP sensor to throttle body.
Action
Disconnect MAP sensor and proceed to test 2
Rectify fault, proceed to test 5
Proceed to test 3
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test
5
Renew MAP sensor and proceed to test 5
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test
5
Renew MAP sensor and proceed to test 5
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test
5
Action complete, quit test
