14.4.1 Required tools

Preliminary and concluding steps: tool-less
Replacing the system board:
– Phillips PH2 / (+) No. 2 screw driver
– Recommended: Magnifying glass (for inspecting socket cover springs)
If an UFM is installed:
– Phillips PH1 / (+) No. 1 screw driver
If a TPM module is installed:
– Bit screw driver
– TPM bit insert *
– thin slotted screw driver (
*For the Japanese market:
– Dedicated TPM screw driver (CWZ8291A)
– TPM module fixing tool (S26361-F3552-L909)

14.4.2 Preliminary steps

For BIOS version 1.15 or below, automatic restore functionality of the
customer BIOS settings is not available. In this case, proceed as follows:
Ê Please note down the current configuration or ask the customer to
provide individual settings. Restore settings to the new system board
manually.
Ê If the BIOS version is unclear due to a defective system board, please
ask the customer to provide individual BIOS settings.
For all other BIOS versions, the customer BIOS settings are restored
automatically. For the Japanese market, please refer to the "Parameter
configuration sheet".
Before replacing the system board, perform the following steps:
