esmc mode

To enable ESMC messages on an interface, use the esmc mode command in interface configuration
mode. To disable ESMC messages, use the no form of this command.
Syntax Description

Command Default For synchronous Ethernet interfaces, ESMC is enabled by default. For asynchronous interfaces, ESMC
is disabled by default.
This command is disabled by default; TCP is the default encapsulation.

Usage Guidelines To use this command, you must first set the interface in synchronous mode.
Examples
The following example enables ESMC on an interface.
Router# configure terminal
Router(config)# interface gigabitethernet0/2
