To enable bridge protocol data unit (BPDU) guard on the interface, use the spanning-tree bpduguard
command in interface configuration mode. To return to the default settings, use the no form of this
command.

Usage Guidelines
BPDU guard prevents a port from receiving BPDUs. Typically, this feature is used in a service-provider
environment where the network administrator wants to prevent an access port from participating in the
spanning tree. If the port still receives a BPDU, it is put in the error-disabled state as a protective
measure. This command has three states:

Disables BPDU guard on this interface.

Support for this command was introduced on the Supervisor Engine 720.
Support for this command on the Supervisor Engine 2 was extended to

This command was integrated into 15.0(1)MR.
spanning-tree bpduguard enable—Unconditionally enables BPDU guard on the interface.
spanning-tree bpduguard disable—Unconditionally disables BPDU guard on the interface.
no spanning-tree bpduguard—Enables BPDU guard on the interface if it is in the operational
PortFast state and if the spanning-tree portfast bpduguard default command is configured.
