– Remove the plugs, insert the ATF pipes all the way into the
thermostat -2- and then tighten the bolt -1-. Refer to .
– ATF level, checking and filling. Refer to
⇒ "8.2 ATF Level, Checking and Filling", page 84
– Check the ATF pipe connections for leaks while checking the
ATF level.
– Install the lock carrier. Refer to ⇒ Body Exterior; Rep. Gr. 50 ;
Body Front .
– Install the front bumper. Refer to ⇒ Body Exterior; Rep. Gr.
63 ; Front Bumper .
– Install the front noise insulation. Refer to ⇒ Body Exterior;
Rep. Gr. 66 ; Underbody Trim Panels .

Note
The ATF pipes are attached to the ATF either with union nuts or
clamping connections depending on the date of manufacture.
Procedure
To connect an ATF pipe with a union nut to a cooler with a clamp‐
ing connection:
– Tape off the ATF pipe with electrical tape.
