When the torque converter is installed correctly, the distance
-a- between the lower contact surfaces on threaded holes and
on the torque converter and torque converter bell housing
contact surfaces is approximately 19 mm.
WARNING
Danger of causing damage to the torque converter drive plate
or the ATF pump.
♦ The distance is approximately 11 mm when the torque
converter is not fully installed.
– Turn the torque converter and the engine drive plate before
connecting the engine and the transmission so that the holes
for the bolts -1- are at the same height as the opening on the
removed starter.
– Install the cover for the starter -2-.
– Ensure no lines are kinked when sliding engine and transmis‐
sion together.
– Use new bolts to attach the torque converter to the drive plate.

– Tighten the torque converter. Refer to

– Install the starter. Refer to ⇒ Electrical Equipment; Rep. Gr.
27 ; Starter .
– Install the front driveshaft. Refer to ⇒ Transfer Case 0BU,
Front Final Drive 0BM, 0C1 and 0BN, Rear Final Drive 0BP;
Rep. Gr. 39 .
– Install the rear driveshaft. Refer to ⇒ Transfer Case 0BU,
Front Final Drive 0BM, 0C1 and 0BN, Rear Final Drive 0BP;
Rep. Gr. 39 .
– Install the ATF pipes. Refer to
