– Remove the locking plate -2- from the selector lever cable
-1-.
– Remove selector mechanism function unit upward.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• Tightening specifications. Refer to
⇒ "2 Selector Mechanism", page 26
Note
Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

Coat the bearings and the sliding surfaces with Polycarbamide
♦
Grease - G 052 142 A2- .
• Selector lever in "S".
– Slide selector lever cable into selector mechanism function
unit.
– Insert the end of the selector lever cable -2- into the shift gate
joint -3-.
– Install the clamping nut -1- through the top opening in the se‐
lector mechanism -arrow- using -T40031- .
– Secure the selector lever cable -1- with the new locking plate
-2-.
• Installation position: Angled end of retaining clamp points to‐
ward rear.
