Fabius Tiro Control Panel Key for
FUNCTION
The O2 sensor measures the fraction of inspired O2 (FiO2) in the respiratory
gas.
The O2 sensor contains an alkaline electrolyte, a lead anode, two gold cath-
odes, and a Teflon membrane. The spatial separation of the two gold cath-
odes allows a voltage comparison to be made as explained below.
The O2 sensor is an electrochemical cell that generates a voltage from the
ion current.
