Overview

ServerNet II management tools let you install, configure, monitor, detect, and diagnose faults on
the ServerNet II SAN, the Switch, and PCI Adapters. These tools consist of the resources
described in the following sections.
System Area Network Management (SANMan)
Software
The Compaq System Area Network Management Software (SANMan) is the set of software
components needed to manage ServerNet II networks for Microsoft Windows 2000. SANMan
includes, but is not limited to, the following services:
Initialization and configuration of ServerNet II SANs

Topology information to all ServerNet II software components/stacks

SAN monitoring and administration

Fault detection and reporting

Network management support

Online diagnostics support

ServerNet II Administrative Utility (SANUtil)

The ServerNet II Administrative Utility (SANUtil) graphical user interface (GUI) initially
configures and defines the SAN topology. It lets you perform the following functions:
Configure and change the SAN topology

Add, delete, or reconfigure a ServerNet II Switch or node

View Switch and node properties
