Creating the SAN Topology

After you install the ServerNet II Administrative Utility (SANUtil) and cable the primary node
to the Switch(es), you use SANUtil to add the Switches to the SAN topology. You can also use
SANUtil to verify connections and later to modify the existing topology.
NOTE: We recommend that you add other SAN end nodes after you create the SAN topology and
establish a working connection between the primary administrative node and the Switches. This will
allow you to test the connectivity at each stage of the configuration and will help ensure a
successful installation.
Steps 1-10 describe how to add Switches to the SAN topology.
1. From the primary administrative node, start SANUtil using Start/Programs/ ServerNet II
Administrative Utility and selecting ServerNet II Administrative Utility, as shown below.
You can also invoke it through the desktop icon.
