Troubleshooting Tools

Table F-1 describes the area of ServerNet II each troubleshooting tool is most effective in
diagnosing.
IMPORTANT: No combination of tests, either provided by Compaq or Windows 2000, lets you
troubleshoot all of the ServerNet II hardware, software, and the SAN. Table F-1 provides information
about the scope of each available test resource.

* Diagnostics tests verify only that the ServerNet II SAN components are functioning normally. The tests do not verify that
application processing is functioning normally. Diagnostics tests are troubleshooting tools designed to help isolate hard
faults, such as a disconnected cable or other equipment failure. The do not isolate intermittent faults, such as heavy network
traffic, which results in loss of packets/information or multiple collisions.
