25. Configure the IP address of this node, which allows TCP/IP packets to be sent through
ServerNet II, following these steps:
a. Select Start/Settings/Control Panel/Network and Dial-Up Connections. Or right-click
on My Network Places and select Properties.
b. Double-click on the ServerNet II Adapter Local Area Connection you want to
configure the IP address for. Or, right-click on the device and select Properties. The
Local Area Connection Properties screen for the Adapter appears.
c. On the General tab, double-click on TCP/IP. Or, highlight TCP/IP and select
Properties. The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties screen appears.
d. Click the radio button beside Use the following IP address.
e. Enter the IP address and subnet mask in the areas provided.
NOTE: The ServerNet IP address you assign must not fall within any other existing subnet on your
network. If you inadvertently assign addresses within your own address space, unpredictable results may
occur. The idea is to create a private network for the ServerNet II connections.
Use the same subnet mask for all ServerNet II nodes.
