Problem-Solving
Diagnostics in Interactive Mode
The following are some general problems that occasionally occur when you try
to run Diagnostics.
Test Won't Run.
If a test will not run, reinstall Diagnostics.
No Results File was Created.
If the tests run, but no results file is created, check the user rights to access the directory where
the file is to be placed.
The following are some problems specific to running Diagnostics in interactive mode.
No Command Line Interface.
The CLI startup process writes a file called tclshrc.tcl into the user's home directory. Verify that
the home directory is valid, that the tclshrc.tcl file exists, and that the user has permission to
write to this home directory.
Try deleting the tclshrc.tcl file from the home directory.
Reinstall the Diagnostics.
CLI Help does not work right.
The HELP command is not working right if the response to the help command is either "invalid
command name "help"" or if you get Windows 2000 help. Windows 2000 Help presents a list of
commands such as "ASSOC," "AT," "ATTRIB," etc.
This will happen if the file SOC.TCL is not loaded (sourced) into the CLI. Reinstall the
Diagnostics.
CLI Help does not show a DLL version.
The help command displays the version information about the installed Diagnostics. If no DLL
version is displayed then the file sod.dll is not loaded into the CLI. Reinstall the Diagnostics.
