ServerNet II PCI Adapter SNMP Traps
Overview
The ServerNet II Adapter agent extension registers with the System Area Network Manager
(SANMan) to receive notifications of events regarding the ServerNet II Adapter (the
"Adapter"). When an event is received, the Adapter agent extension creates an SNMP trap.
The Adapter MIB defines three SNMP traps described in this appendix. These traps are
generated whenever a notification of status change is received. The generic trap number is 6; it
is assigned by the Adapter Agent Extension. The enterprise-specific trap number (1, 2, or 3)
identifies the specific trap-type.
The Adapter agent extension returns an event handle for the trap event to the Windows NT
Extendible Agent in the snmpExtensionInit function call. When an event notification is received
from SANMan, the Adapter agent extension asserts the trap event. When the Windows NT
Extendible Agent calls snmpExtensionTrap, the Adapter agent extension returns both the
generic and specific number for the trap-type.
NOTE: All traps require the associated trap "enable" to be set. For all traps, the default is "On."
