With closed converter lock-up clutch the slip between pump and turbine wheel and consequently the
hydraulic loss in the converter is equal to "zero" (see figure A).
According to the turbine speed the converter lock-up clutch is shifted automatically.
Via a proportional valve the pilot pressure is applied to the actuating piston, which compresses the disc
set (see figure B, lock-up clutch valve).
