Navisphere CLI
The VNX gateway system requires six LUNs for software and system data files. You
will create control LUNs on four unused disks. If you are adding the VNX gateway
system to an existing array that does not have unused disks, add disks or rearrange
existing LUNs to free up the disks.
To create control LUNs, first create a RAID group for the control LUNs by using one
of the following methods:

If you are using Unisphere, create a RAID group by following these steps:
1. From the main Unisphere page, select the storage array.
2. Select Storage > Storage Pools, then click the RAID groups tab.
3. Click the Create button. The Create Storage Pool dialog box appears.
4. Under the General tab, click the RAID Group radio button.
5. Create a new RAID group by using the settings in
Create RAID group settings

Select first available value.

Select RAID5.
Number of Disks

Manual, then click Select
to manually select disks
6. Click Apply.
If you are using Navisphere CLI to create a RAID group, enter the following
command:
Note: This example uses RAID group 0 and disks 0 through 3 on the first DAE. You can use any
RAID group ID and any four disks.
