EMC VNX VG2/VG8 Gateway Configuration Setup Guide
Manually zoning the FC/FCoE switches by using the World Wide Name (WWN)
involves several steps. You must first collect the WWNs from the blades and the
backend. You then use the WWNs to zone the switch.
Note: If you are zoning a Cisco FCoE switch, configure the switch parameter "no errdisable
detect cause all" for optimal performance.
Note: If your VG2/VG8 system is using a Symmetrix backend for the boot array, and the
switch is already zoned, and the hypervolumes for the system LUNs already exist, go to
"Return to File OE installation" on page
If you were instructed to manually configure the FC/FCoE switches during File OE
installatioin, the installation program displays the WWN of each FC/FCoE HBA port
on each Data Mover (see examples below). A reminder to configure switch zoning
and storage groups also appears.
Record the WWNs for the next steps. To avoid mistakes, copy and paste the WWNs to
a text file.
Note: These values are the WWNs of the Data Mover ports, not the array ports.
The following is an FC example of the WWNs displayed:
