The VNX5300 SP has two to four ports to connect to SAN fabrics. If all of the SAN
ports on the array are already connected to the fabric, you need not change these
connections. If the array has two available ports on each SP, the recommended
practice is to cable these ports to the switches and dedicate them to the VNX gateway
system.
If you are using two switches to connect a VNX5300 array, connect the cables as
shown in the example in
Figure

The array SAN ports 2 and 3 are used in this example, but you can use any two ports
on each SP:
1. Connect SP A slot 0, port 2 to switch A.
2. Connect SP B slot 0, port 2 to switch A.
3. Connect SP A slot 0, port 3 to switch B.
4. Connect SP B slot 0, port 3 to switch B.
5. Record the SP ports you connected to the switch ports by using the
cabling worksheet" on page
