EMC VNX VG2/VG8 Gateway Configuration Setup Guide
Note: The cabling and zoning rules for a VNX VG2/VG8 system are minimum requirements.
You can have additional paths between the array and the blades if desired.
Zone the switches by using the appropriate administration program for the specific
switch.
Note: The examples are written for VG8 systems with eight blades. If you have fewer blades,
do not configure the extra switch zones. BE 0 and BE 1 refer to the logical backend 0 and
backend 1 ports; the actual port labels on the I/O modules are 0 and 1.
For a single switch configuration with a VNX array, create the following zones. You
can use any two VNX SAN ports on the SPs; 0 and 1 are used here for simplicity. If
you cabled dedicated SAN ports on a VNX array, ensure that you use those ports:
Blade 2 BE 0 to SP A port 0
Blade 2 BE 0 to SP B port 0
Blade 2 BE 1 to SP A port 1
Blade 2 BE 1 to SP B port 1
Blade 4 BE 0 to SP A port 0
Blade 4 BE 0 to SP B port 0
Blade 4 BE 1 to SP A port 1
Blade 4 BE 1 to SP B port 1
Blade 6 BE 0 to SP A port 0
Blade 6 BE 0 to SP B port 0
Blade 6 BE 1 to SP A port 1
Blade 6 BE 1 to SP B port 1
Blade 8 BE 0 to SP A port 0
Blade 8 BE 0 to SP B port 0
Blade 8 BE 1 to SP A port 1
Blade 8 BE 1 to SP B port 1
Blade 3 BE 0 to SP A port 0
