Test: Desired result
Check for continuity to ground:
There should be continuity.
Check for voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
Check for continuity to ground:
There should be less than 4 Ω with
the pedal pushed.
Check for continuity to ground:
There should be continuity.
Check for continuity to ground:
There should be continuity.
NOTE: Before testing, remove the
No. 34 (15 A) fuse.
Check for continuity to ground:
There should be continuity.
NOTE: Before testing, remove the
No. 34 (15 A) fuse.
Connect to ground: The ceiling light
should come on.

Connect battery power to the
BLU/RED terminal (right retractor) or
BLU terminal (left retractor); after
about four seconds there should be
battery voltage.
Check for continuity to ground:
There should be continuity.
Possible cause if result is not obtained
• Poor ground (G401, G402, G403)
• An open in the wire
• Blown No. 5 (15 A) fuse
• An open in the wire
• Blown No. 45 (20 A) fuse
• Faulty brake switch
• Blown brake light bulbs
• Faulty brake light failure sensors
• Poor ground (G551)
• An open in the ORN/WHT or
GRN/WHT wire
• Faulty engine compartment lid
switch
• Poor ground (G401, G402, G403)
• An open in the wire
• Faulty trunk latch switch
• Poor ground (G551)
• An open in the wire
• Faulty door switch
• Poor ground (G401, G402, G403)
• An open in the wire
• Blown No. 34 (15 A) fuse
• Faulty ceiling light
• An open in the WHT/BLU or
BLK/WHTwire
• Faulty retractable headlight control
unit
• Seized, damaged, or improperly
installed retractor linkage
• Faulty roof holder switch
• Faulty roof lock switches
• Poor ground (G401, G402, G403)
• An open in the RED/YEL
BLU/GRN wire
• An open in both the RED/GRN and
