Wireless S/5 network
Problem
No wireless connection - the
patient monitor does not
associate/authenticate with the
Access Point, see section
"11.3.3"
for WLAN diagnostics.

Possible cause
Patient monitor is out of wireless
coverage area.
WLAN radio is disabled.
Incompatible wireless network
infrastructure.
SSID mismatch between patient
monitor and access point.
Security settings mismatch
between patient monitor and
access point:
Incorrect or incompatible
confidentiality method
Incorrect Pass Key
Incorrect key index
Access control list is in use in the
access point. The patient monitor
is blocked out.
Recommended action
Contact the hospital IT
department to check the
wireless coverage area.
Enable WLAN radio, see
section "7.2.4".
Check that the patient monitor
is installed to the appropriate
wireless network
infrastructure (IEEE 802.11b).
Enter correct SSID, see section
"7.2.4".
Contact the hospital IT
department for correct
security settings and then
update the patient monitor
configuration, see section
"7.2.4".
Check that the used security
method is none, WEP-64 or
WEP-128.
Select correct confidentiality
method.
Ensure Pass Key used is
correct.
Select correct key index.
Contact the hospital IT
department to update the
access control.
