Specifying the LSA arrival interval

If OSPF receives an LSA that has the same LSA type, LS ID, and router ID as the previously received
LSA within the LSA arrival interval, OSPF discards the LSA to save bandwidth and route resources.
To configure the LSA arrival interval:
Step
Enter system view.
1.
Enter OSPF view.
2.
Configure the LSA arrival
3.
interval.

Specifying the LSA generation interval

You can adjust the LSA generation interval to protect network resources and routers from being over
consumed by frequent network changes.
When network changes are not frequent, LSAs are generated at the minimum-interval. If network
changes become frequent, the LSA generation interval is incremented by incremental-interval × 2
(n is the number of generation times) each time a LSA generation occurs until the maximum-interval
is reached.
To configure the LSA generation interval:
Step
Enter system view.
1.
Enter OSPF view.
2.
Configure the LSA
3.
generation interval.
Disabling interfaces from receiving and sending OSPF
packets
Follow these guidelines when you disable interfaces from receiving and sending OSPF packets:
Different OSPF processes can disable the same interface from receiving and sending OSPF
packets. The silent-interface command disables only the interfaces associated with the
current process rather than interfaces associated with other processes.
