Using the brake release unit with an external power supply
This section details how to release the holding brakes with the internal brake
release unit using an external voltage supply. This is done if the robot is not
connected to the controller.

Incorrect connections, such as supplying
power to the wrong pin, may cause all brakes
to be released simultaneously!
Connect an external power supply to connect-
or XP1.
Push the brake release button to release the
holding brakes, according to the previous
procedure.

Note
Also, be careful not to interchange the
24V and 0V pins. If they are mixed up,
damage can be caused to a resistor di-
ode and to the system board.
